For me, I just have a lot of work and stuff to do during the week, so I don't really get a chance to get on during the week.  I'd probably be a bit more active during the weekends.

It came today!
This is fantastic.  I got it used, but it looks COMPLETELY brand new! :D
The list price on Amazon is ~$130 but I got it for $66 (USD).
And it looks completely new.  The labels on the buttons are bright, not worn, the screen is fantastic.  There are absolutely no scratches, dead pixels, or anything.  I got just the calculator, no cables or documentation or anything
But the mini-USB from my Nspire fits the mini-USB port on this one, so all is well.

I'm also already fully loaded with many tutorials and documentation I've downloaded from around the web, so I'm pretty much ready to begin cracking this thing open >:D (figuratively, of course).

Miscellaneous / Re: Post your desktop

[1 month later]
My desktop doesn't seem to like staying the same :P Went icon-free b/c I never used them anyways.

The bottom-left is four separate docks. Lots of those boxes checked in different awn settings windows..
Also GrayRevenge is win :D
Also Alternia

Hahaha, I didn't see the background at first, but in the terminal I saw "meridian" and thought it said "eridan", but I thought "Nah, couldn't be"
Then I realized the background is Alternia and its two moons.  A+

Anime and Manga / Re: Any Homestucks?

It is awesome.  Is your name a reference to the cherub's jujus?  Or is it just a coincidence (I see you registered in 2010 and I'm not sure the jujus were really known back then)

Anime and Manga / Any Homestucks?
« on: February 18, 2013, 11:28:38 pm »
Ok, so this doesn't really count as an anime/manga (it's a web comic), but I figured this was the best place for it.

Does anyone here read Homestuck?

Homestuck is, as previously mentioned, a web comic by Andrew Hussie.
I figured many people here would enjoy it because it parodies text-adventure, video games, and just internet culture in general.

It's about a boy named John Egbert and his internet friends (Rose Lalonde, Dave Strider, and Jade Harley) who begin playing a new internet game called Sburb.
The game is capable of altering reality, as one "server player" can see the client player's room on their screen, and move objects around by clicking on them.
Eventually they activate a mechanism that causes Earth to be destroyed via meteors, while the kids are transported directly into the game's universe, called the Incipisphere.
Crazy things happen that can not be explained fully.
It's full of complex plot devices, time travel, aliens, alternate universes, action, suspense, romance, and, above all, humor.
THOUGH BE WARNED, THE FIRST SEGMENT IS PRETTY DULL. Just get through it, but don't skip it.
If you haven't heard of it, you should read it.

I really don't want to burst your bubble, since this is the way all (most) programmers start, but by displaying "hello world" you're still miles away from actually doing what's called programming. It has a lot more into it than just displaying; it is a start though.

I know.  That's why I thought it hilarious that they found it amazing.

I thought the programming was a given xD

I meant besides that.

I was thinking of learning TI-BASIC first, then Axe, then ASM.
From what I gather, those are arranged in orders of difficulty of learning them.

Can anyone recommend good material for learning these languages?

I'm already familiar with some beginner stuff with TI-BASIC.  The other day at lunch, my friend was doing trig homework and when he wasn't looking I swiped his calculator for a few seconds, and made it say "Hello Stupid".  Literally only two lines (ClrHome and Output(4,2,"Hello Stupid")) and my friends already regard me as some hacker/programmer prodigy, which I find absolutely hilarious.

So I guess I'll continue with TI-Basic.

Also I'm familiar with WabbitEmu.  I have a few TI roms lying around my hard drive.

My mom ordered me a used TI-84 Plus SE from Amazon last night for around $60 :D
Should be coming around next week...

Any suggestions for what I should do with it when it arrives?

Ohhh yeah... you really shouldn't have shut it down mid-process.  How long was it taking?
What OS are you using, or is on the partition you're trying to shrink?

TI-Nspire / Re: Calculator Emulator
« on: February 10, 2013, 10:25:17 pm »
Just to be clear: there are emulators, that can be run on the Nspire platform, which emulate other calculators?

Essentially, a WabbitEmu the runs on Nspire.

TI-Nspire / Calculator Emulator

How difficult would it be to write a calculator emulator for the TI-Nspire?

I.e, run ROMs of older calculators (Like the TI-83, 84, etc) on the TI-Nspire?
Is this even possible/does it already exist?
If so, that would be awesome.

It would be awesome if we could change the text where it says "TI-Nspire" to anything we want.  Like make it say "Omnimaga" or something

Yeah, I guess I'm just a few years too young to have gotten any of the classic consoles/games when they were out/popular.  I was born in 1997.  I think I remember owning a Gameboy Color when I was like 4 or 5, and later a Gameboy Advance, but I have no idea what happened to either of those things.
