That same code gives me alternating black and white stripes of 8*32 pixels.  (and there are eight stripes)

102: Word processing would suck b/c only eight lines are visible at a time (and only sixteen characters per line, but that's already been mentioned.)
103: newer OS versions would need patches made by BrandonW in order to work properly.

Is it supposed to do the following?

Uh...that's not right.  That's only a 2*4 map.  The data was for a 4*4 map.  I think one of the things that is confusing people (especially me) is the numbers used.  If the numbers are all the same (dimension of tiles and map), then we can't tell where those came from.

The formatting looks good so far.  I also like your writing style.  Its simple and easy to understand.
A little off topic, but has anyone made a tilemap demo program, like the one that comes with xLib, but for Axe?  Just a character that moves around a scrolling tilemap.

There is a thread somewhere around here with a xkcd with a similar theme.

It seems that one good thing TI did was to make the calcs durable.

Well, my name....is not my name!
Yes, the M stands for Michael (Ride), but I am not Michael Ride.  He does not exist, except in my head and online.
I just like the name.

I like it. Sounds like it has some influence (or at least similarities to another song I've heard, or played, but I can't remember the name :P). Sounds really cool though.
The first six notes or so were influenced by a Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack, and I took off from there.

The file should be on mediafire now (use the link in my first post)

I'm not an oboe player, but I think everything is in the correct range.

Give me a minute to check it, but are you sure you aren't hearing the clarinet part?

EDIT: You must be mistaken.  The highest note is an E two octaves above middle C, certainly playable by an oboe.  I didn't write the parts to be easy, just playable.

What format do you want the score in?  If you can't get it from the MIDI file, I'm not sure You'll be able to read my file type.  (Unless you have Finale)

This is a woodwind quintet I wrote entitled "The Lightning Thief".
It is a tone poem on the book,so it is meant to tell the story in the book, The Lightning Thief.
