(double post for update) this one is for even those of you who frequent the dojo.

there was an idiot in the japaneese advertising commitee group, w/e.  anyway, in an unofficial update for a trialer they put out, they accidently showed pictures of ness, lucario and jigglypuff in the stickers update for the japaneese ssbb trailer. this is not fake btw, because they immediately withdrew the video when word went out. if you dont know. ness was generally thought to be out because of lucas. jigglypuff no one was worried about and lucario is a cool pokemon that many people thought may get in and he did. its not on the dojo but i bet it will be soon as a fodder update.

anyway, this guy is one of the most liked people in the smash bros "scene" i guess, he useually doesnt dabble in rumors and stuff so his saying it confirms it for me.

theres a dropdown menu that should say none if you change that to your joysticks name it may work. i use a gc controller with a usb adapter i bought and it works good for me

edit: if you ever do get your joypad to work with the emulator, just msg or aim or something and we can rm. also idk but mupen64k is another emulator but not too many people use it, if you can get it to work with that then i guess we can use that.

hd space shouldnt be a problem, i think its about 15mb total. if you have a flash drive oyu can play it striaght off of that.

oh ya, as to art about the chain grabbing you were talking about. thats fine since every character has ways of doing it and it is very very hard to do perfectly. cargo throwing is not.


so..if you have aim im majesticle42 and im thinking a good time for this could be 7:00pm ET, if thats a problem post or aim me.

if he puts you on his back and lets you break free he can repeatedly grab you again, its impossible to get out of unless you are link i think and paybe pikachu which pop out behind him. in melee ness lost all priority and recovery status. anyway there is a vid of it under isai dk kefit kirby, where he does it nonstop. ive seen some very good samus's

cargo stall is...look up isai dk kefit kirby on google vids im saying only one of those to turn yourself around. im saying i think pikachu is a bit better than the rest imo but that there are no obviously god/terrible characters. and you think yoshi got pumped in ssbm? they ruined his d air and uptilt, gave him a useless b over and i think they slowed his grab down if thats even possible. i play yoshi in ssbm because he is low tier. i have the  ssb rom that everyone uses on emularena and most of kaillera.

Tournament legal describes the settings that can be used in competitive Super Smash Bros. tournaments. Because some stages, settings, and rulesets can lead to degenerate gameplay, tournament organizers have generally agreed on enforcing the following conditions in tournament play:

Tournament rules (normal)

    * 5 stock (sometimes 4 or 6 stock)
    * Team Attack (TA) on (for teams)
    * Damage Ratio normal
    * No handicap
    * Life Stealing allowed
    * No stage can be picked twice in a row, but they can be chosen again
    * A stage can be reset after being chosen randomly, but if it happens again or picked, it can be chosen
    * If a Ness is picked, Saffron City can be banned no matter what
    * Camping/Edge Stalling not allowed
    * DK cargo stalling (Isai discovered this) is normally allowed (though BIG argument)

Banned (Always)

    * Sector Z (due to lasers and length)
    * Brinstar (though legal under some rulesets)
    * Mushroom Kingdom (due to easy death zones, spamming through pipes, POW blocks)
    * Yoshi’s Island (cloud stalling, length)

Allowed (Always)

    * Hyrule
    * Dreamland N64
    * DK Jungle N64
    * Peach’s Castle

Other Notes

    * Hyrule and Dream Land are the most common choices, followed by slob picks of Saffron City and DK Jungle Tournament legal (SSB)

firstly, we cant play melee online, gc emulation is very new and defenitely not online, (you gave me a melee impression in your post) . And thankgoodness for your responce on items, you would not believe the amount of people that insist they are better than me and want to play items or time.
these rules i would assume will do

optional: i would allow dk's stage and saffron unless ness and i would say a limit of one cargo stall to turn around before having to throw him away. other than that, other forms of chaingrabbing and comboing are nearly never banned and edge hogging should be fine too.  seem reasonable? (note, not meant to be insulting, just meant to cover all that has been brought up to me in the past)

also i would like to request the rule that the person can not chose the same character twice. unless anyone objects. the reason being that i think it gives a better estimation of skill if you can use multiple characters good instead of just one.

do you all have project64k? thats the client i would be using unless anyone has any objections. just google project64k, no install required and the rom can be found on many websites that i dont think im allowed to link to. if you have not played online before i would suggest trying it out. its a little laggy (usually not a problem) and button timing can be different. its defenitely doable though unless you have dialup. if you havent played before i would suggest a little practicing, it takes some getting used to, use the emularena server, its the main ssb one and if you happen upon me, im Al Capwned.

i like both version of ssb, ssb64 a little more at the moment. our school suddenly got into ssb, idk why. many of my friends got n64's for christmas LOL. but i defenitely like smash bros melee when there are people around to play. i do like how ssb64 is very balanced, each character is alot closer to the same potential than characters in melee. no character is better or worse except maybe pikachu is thought to be a bit better. but we'll never really know because isai has the best of every character except yoshi and we cant have him face himself (hes heads and shoulders above even the second best player, and even the best yoshi)

i play all forms of ssb, melee and classic, id love to have a battle. unfortunately grades close on friday of this week so i have tons of work, friday though, we can set something up im sure. best 2/3 no items?

meh, if you want to think of brawl in that light (i hope im on your page [overpriced, buggy OS]) yes a delay can make the game better but the japaneese version comes out in 16 days, even given that this was decided 4 days ago, 20 days is not enough to make any major changes. plus thier delay was like 10 days, ours was one month, and we get the same version of the game im fairly sure (thats how it aws for melee). just national politics are getting in the way i think i heard something about advertising is the reason we are being delayed.

oh ya, if anyone wants to fight me for the title of omnimaga smash champ, just reply and we can setup a kaillera ssb64 match, i dont think i can face anyone in melee though...

well, i guess some things are applicable, but i dont think sc ghost had the following that ssb has. plus to my knowledge sc ghost never really got far in development where ssbb is nearly done. sakurai has made two good games and the third will be awesome too, when it comes. thats the only part in question now, the date.

i dunno, i always thought that 2 decks on one calc would be feasable. i think it would be easier to  transfer a deck to a diff calc than to make linkplay.

well, as what i believe to be the main super smash bros fan in the furom, i take it as my duty to bring this piece of bad news to those who do not check the dojo regularly, in fact i missed this originally. ssbb has been delayed again, to march 10th. one delay is fine 2 is unnacceptable. this is very upsetting to many people, and disapointing for all who have been wating since its original release was announced.
