ASM / Re: Executing "ret" twice?
« on: October 12, 2010, 04:44:36 am »
You know, you can save your stack pointer first and then return out of an arbitrary number of nested calls at once without memory leaks.
<code block not quoted>

Ooh, I failed to think of that.

It also appears to include TASM, which is very much non-free.
I didn't knew that TASM was not free O.o ???

It's shareware. iirc, it's "free as in beer", but not "free as in speech".

POP HL \ ret should work, Jerros. Maybe the fault is elsewhere? Do you mind posting the code fragment involved?

Other Calculators / Re: TI-1000 project... hoax or not?

Hoax. Definitely. Unless the person involved is affiliated with TI, in which case he would not have asked for information.

News / Re: Axe Contest poll and judging starts
« on: October 05, 2010, 11:13:53 am »
I still liked your entry though. From what I could notice, a lot of people were busy and started near the end of the contest, or were hit by RAM clears at last minute. Result: A lot of entries are unfinished games.

It seems that the same rules as plain ASM apply here: ONLY TEST ON EMULATORS!

Sorry, but I just had to say that :)

(maybe quigibo could release a PC Axe compiler? Then you wouldn't have to transfer your program every time you want to test something.)

The Axe Parser Project / Re: Funny program
« on: October 02, 2010, 10:42:13 am »
Ah, thanks.  I was unaware of that.

Yeah, it's basically Mirage's custom interrupt called Tasker/Key hooks.

Just for clarity: the interrupt tasker is not the same as Mirage's hook system. Interrupts are hardware-related, while hooks (or rather, hook "managers") are functions from the operating system.

Humour and Jokes / Re: Proof that TI-84SE discontinuation was evil
« on: October 02, 2010, 10:20:38 am »
Yeah, kinda late for 1011. I don't think TI even released the 84+ back then yet.

You forget that the components inside the 84+ can be used to build a time machine. How else would you explain the arcane operating system quirks?

Miscellaneous / Re: A small survey!

I post this because there are so many other fencers around here, and just in case it might not be late after all :D
[/total nonsense]

EDIT: is my count of 4 fencers correct? Silver Shadow, Michael Lee, ACagliano and myself?

Look in the top 10 on bash.org. Plenty of ROFLMAO-compliant quotes there :)

Also, this might be funny to the non-theists on the board (read with caution): http://www.godlessgeeks.com/LINKS/GodProof.htm

U can haz kudos. What kind of libraries do you plan to implement? I mean, Xlib-like, math libs, stdlib-like, just plain kernel function wrappers,...
