News / Zelda makes it to top 100 downloads at ticalc.org
« on: September 19, 2007, 02:40:00 pm »
How do they even come up with the ratings?
Based on 4 votes, it's impossible to get an average 9.16 using whole numbers. Is downloads factored in somehow?

http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/stats.html#3 in the list of top rated programs. It probably won't stay on the list for long since the rank is only based on 4 votes. As more people vote, it'll get a lower rank.

It's also at #21 for most downloaded in the past 7 days, however that's probably because that it's still on the front page. Once it's off the front, it most likely won't receive that many downloads.

When I create a game I usually list all of the variables on a text document.

Here's a bit that I've done for a program I'm working on.

I'm so glad I have a TI-89 :Ptongue.gif (needed it for calc anyways)

This is going to be like having your own super nintendo on your calc.
Just add Super Mario and the set is complete :)smile.gif

Lights out is always fun to play.
A simple snake game can't be beaten.

You have to create that Checkers AI. I demand you to. :Ptongue.gif
I want to versus it against the AI in my checkers game.
(there hasn't been any AI for checkers yet for my AI to play against)

Maybe there should be a third group: Basic games that use asm programs.

So you would have:
1.) Pure Basic
2.) Pure Asm
3.) Asm+Basic

That way it is obvious which category the programs fall into.

I lost:
Project M (restored the binary, though)
Latest version of OTBP Assembler (gives me an excuse to rewrite it)
My interrupt-based sound routine (not too hard to remake, I guess)
The small progress with GSM2
Most of the SMB2 sprites I made over the past couple of weeks
Xtravar Beta 2 source code (salvaged the binary, that's all I need I guess)
...anything else on that calc, pretty much.

 XtraVar Beta 2! :)smile.gif
I use XtraVar all the time! It helps prevent archive errors and overwrite errors, not to mention that the user can't edit the variables to cheat.

How is the new version going to differ from the original (or is this secret :Ptongue.gif )

Is Jatol allowed to do such a thing?
What about the people that paid for their page already?

nitacku: Filterse such as what? Advanced ones like motion blurring and stuff? Oh yeah, and have you ever checked out Pyroedit?

Yep, motion blurring is included. Also one I call razor, gray mask, and a few others.

I've tried PyroEdit and it indeed has everything, however I find that the interface is a bit confusing at times and the speed can be a bit slow. Out of everything, I find that it's the sheer number of subprograms needed that deters me the most from using PyroEdit. The editor I'm working on now will be a single program.

It's all on calc. The interface is entirely graphical, so navigating is very easy.
I aiming to make the editor a replace for all others. It requires xLIB of course to do all of the fancy effects and filters. (yes, there are filters you can apply to pics)
