TI-Nspire / Re: nGL - a fast (enough) 3D engine for the nspire

n00b question alert!
The default textures seem very dark and moody. Can I make them more like the regular PC Minecraft textures.

I decided to make my first step into the world of Nspire C by making my own Command Line Interface. Currently, the source is suffering from bugs, but when the bugs are fixed, it'll server as a nice base for a terminal. The source is available on my Github.

Other Calculators / Three Coffee Shops
« on: April 12, 2014, 11:50:05 am »
There were once 3 coffee shops, and all of them had a diverse range of customers and tastes.

The first coffee shop had a very mature set of customers. Sometimes someone would intrude rudely and would be escorted out. This coffee shop also had a customer who had invented a cup that made drinking coffee simply amazing. Most people here upgraded from their smaller cups to drink the coffee offered here. Some people still used the smaller coffee cups because they were used to it. The man who invented the larger coffee cups also had a vendetta against the type of coffee cups offered by the maker of the coffee beans. These cups only allowed you to use the coffee brewed by the maker of the cups. After some time, the coffee bean maker relented and offered you to use another type of coffee.

The second shop had more of a party atmosphere. Anyone could say what their opinions were as long as they were kind and courteous. The creator of this coffee shop created many great blends of coffee with a very weak coffee mixture made by the creator of the coffee beans. Most people used the smaller coffee cups because they had a limit to how much coffee they were allowed to drink. This coffee shop also created an attachment that allowed a coffee cup to create amazing tasting coffee from a blend of coffee similar to the coffee made by the coffee bean creator. A similarity between this coffee shop and the first is that they also had a strong following of people who preferred another blend of coffee that is vastly superior to the other blend but wasn’t as widely used due to an original monopoly.
The third coffee shop was mostly French speaking. They did have some English speakers also. This shop managed to do their best to make coffee as open as possible. They managed to make the weakest brands of coffee into coffee that could do nearly everything. When the coffee making companies tried to stop these new developments, this coffee shop would always be one of the first to fix the problems.

TI-Nspire / Re: 2048 for nspire

I don't see anything wrong with multiple versions of 2048 as long as it doesn't get annoying. 2048 also happens to be a great coding exercise.

How does that work?
By using software to setup a Linux .iso image.

Also, by holding Command+S when the startup chime is heard boots into a command-line that scared the crap out of our IT guy.

Also, as mentionned on TI-Planet, a new version of nLaunchy (2.4) is out too! It lets you run multiple OSes on one calc, as well as Linucx.
How might one determine what HW revision someone has? My CX says 2109010383 P-1211D

Well, WFRNG IS a parody of programmers who don't know what they're doing. Just add color to the title and that's 9001 more downloads.

Miscellaneous / Re: So how did you get into calc programming?
« on: March 24, 2014, 04:32:17 pm »
In seventh grade I needed a new calculator since I was taking Algebra 1. I then went to Target and bought a TI-84+ SE (Good choice in hindsight) for full price (not a good choice in hindsight). Later, I got Cave Story on it and proceeded to break it after getting an ON-Break and Goto-ing. Later, I made a few math solvers and sold them for fifity cents. Later, I became a god at my school for bringing Fruit Ninja. I still manage to impress my friends with little gems I make.

Well, I started this little project on cemetech and I think it is only fair to also post it here. Calcc Wars is a personal project of mine to spoof Star Wars and turn it into a movie with TI, Casio, and HP calculators. The Nspires are pure evil though. The preview is here: https://sites.google.com/site/ordelore8x/blog/tiwarspreview. I need help on deciding what sort of 3D animation software to use. My one sticking point is that the sotware must be 1) Free and 2) Not Blender.

Computer Usage and Setup Help / Raspberry Pi Lapdock setup [TUTORIAL]
« on: March 15, 2014, 12:49:39 pm »
Recently, I ave done everything I could to turn my Raspberry Pi Model B into a laptop. After searching through several tutorials, I never could get what they wanted, plus, I was using NOOBS for my OS loader and that doesn't work well with the lapdock. Thanks to my own perserverance and plain stubborness, I have figured out how to get the Pi to work.
Parts list:
Motorola Lapdock (I used the 100 model but I can assume any type will work)
Micro HDMI female to Micro HDMI female adapter
Micro HDMI male to HDMI male
Micro USB female to USB Male
USB Female to USB Male
Raspberry Pi ( I used a model B Rev 2 which means it can be powered by USB)
An SD card with NOOBS installed

1) Connect all the cables to together.
2) Locate the reset button on the bottom. It is a small paper-clip hole. Press that button for ~5 seconds and also press down the power button on the Lapdock.
3) Press and hold the power button on the Lapdock.
4) Screen should turn on and show the gradient for NOOBS.
5) From there install the OSes if necessary.
6) Plug in an external power source to the micro USB slot in the Pi to ride through the loss of power.
7) When the OS is selected, the HDMI will turn off and so will the Lapdock's HDMI.
8) Repeat steps 2 and 3.
9) Screen shoould pop up with your OS of choice.
