MGOS, 33 KHz isn't that fast for a 6 MHz processor. You can do port writes at least 1 MHz, assuming you have what you need to transmit.

Are you sure you didn't affect something on your local computer? Mine looks the same.

Did you install anything that would come with fonts recently?

If you just made the max size 8x8, you could have different sprites for each size and render it just like the 8x8 ones, right?

There is no wire, so you'd have to modify the connector directly.

USB mini has 5 pins. 4 of them are the same as USB, and have corresponding wires, but the fifth hooks to either power or ground, and tells the port whether it's acting as a Host (type A) or a Slave (type B)

With the normal A/B, this is implied, but with the mini cables, many devices support both types. Hence the detector pin.

Since there is no wire corresponding to this pin, there's not much you can do without cracking open the connector.

Buying a prebuilt cable is a cheaper option, unless you want to tear up one of the link cables you have on hand.

Note that cheap manufacturers will often still use the B-style connector, since it's cheaper. They wire it up correctly inside, though.

That's probably true thanks to FAT libs for the arduino. Coding a FAT driver would push it over the edge, though.

On that SD card, if you avoid implementing a filesystem you could do it a lot more easily. Since you have USBHID anyway, why not just make it completely internal? Then you can just treat it as extra Flash.

If you just want a different bitcoin-like system, though, without replacing bitcoin, you just have to start a new block chain. That process is only necessary for major bitcoin-specific changes.

That's not bizarre at all if it has a checksum as part of the boot cycle.

Element, you could do that but you would be using a different currency, not bitcoin. Bitcoin has an agreed-upon protocol, and the chain of transactions always trace back to valid origins of the money.

You can't fake more money without spoofing the ENTIRE chain of transactions. Plus, to do so would require the same approach as mining, as far as getting resources to work with, and would take FAR more computing power. It earns more money to mine than to cheat, and the difficulty vs payoff scale is aimed at keeping it that way.

I would say bitcoin is more useful as a long term investment than a short term investment, given its growth pattern. Short term behavior is volatile.

Really, though, there are better investments.

Toy Wars needs to be unarchived, and you need to send ALL the files. Run the one without a theta before the name, and generate a map (first menu item) before playing it.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Is the 3DS worth it ?
« on: November 26, 2013, 01:44:26 pm »
The 2DS has a feature everyone seems to be forgetting: The controls are in a good place. On all of the DS line, they're based in the center of the lower part of the handheld, which means it's off-balance. With the 2DS, it's still in the center, but it's also in the center of balance, and therefore easier to hold.

The only hardware difference I'd recommend for Linux vs. Windows when building a desktop is to get an Nvidia GPU. AMD's cards do not perform as well, due to really crappy drivers. Nvidia's proprietary drivers work extremely well.
