Democracy and Law often disagree with each other. There are problems with Democracy itself, too, as the will of the people isn't always the best choice. Direct Democracy only works i people are fully aware of the situations they are voting on, and are non-biased towards each other's welfare. In other words, pure democracy can't work, because people are corrupt.
Most "democratic" countries, including the US, are actually Republics, which are different in their function. People elect officials who are supposed to be fully aware of the situation. The only problem is that the officials people elect are all idiots. Otherwise it would work a little better
Don't talk about freedom with consoles. There is no such thing on game consoles. There still isn't a viable software coding solution for the N64 that doesn't have extra attachments (ie flash carts) that cost upwards of $50, not counting emulators. The only reason it's viable on the Wii and the PS3 is because there are ways to hack it, similar to ndless, and memory to alter. Same goes for the PSP. The xbox original also had a fairly difficult softmod, either involving save hacking or HD swapping while the system was running.
Virtually any console you've ever seen (besides the PS3, but that's changed too, with the removal of otherOS, but the Dreamcast also had it) was designed to be locked down from the beginning, from a programming standpoint. This includes the NES, the Sega CD, or any other cartridge-based game, the PS2, the Xbox, The wii, The Gamecube, and Also handhelds.
The vast majority of Video game consoles need something exactly like ndless to get homebrew, at least initially. (By identical, I mean they work on the same concept of finding and exploiting glitches)
Note the nonfanboyism, since I accused all of them equally, since they are equally guilty.
I have to disagree DJ, the PSP has more expensive hardware in it, like a much more powerful processor, a better screen, more inputs, etc., so it actually costs more for a reason. Both are overpriced, though, it's the nature of consumer electronics. People will sell it for as much as they can to make a profit. The calcs are far worse than the game systems though.
Quality over quantity eh? I admire that. I'd have given up on grey by now
I do like the idea of relative addressing, though. That way, you wouldn't sacrifice any physics capabilities, and it would make your engine even better! This is the same one from HL2 OC, right? That one was pretty darn cool.
Sweet! I think the gravity looks a little strong going down, though. you should be able to cushion yourself. Of course, if you made it harder to damage yourself than the original, it's not a problem. It looks really nice though.
I'm not 100% sure it doesn't clear archive on some OSes, but it only gives RAM clears on OS 1.4 and I think OS 1.7.
When your calc crashes in an infinite loop, pull out the keypad, and insert it like the CAS/touch ndless 1>1 method used to do. Turn on the calc, and remove a battery while it's on. I personally guarantee it won't be in the loop anymore, but it might still clear your archive on some OSes, I think 2.0 does. Still, it's a handy way to not lose a big project!
