I would rather have screenshots of projects that are already in fully playable demo stages or completed before adding them. This is a bit why I would prefer if the Illusiat 12 screenshot was replaced with something else at one point, while still showing the TI-OS GUI to show that it's the CSE. It would be a nice addition though.

I guess some sort of animated GIF on the banner would provide you more virtual space and definitely more flexibility. Would that be too much to ask for? :-\

The only way to efficiently do this would be to separate the banner image into multiple chunks and only have certain parts (preferably small ones) animated, at a very low frame rate.

Also in the past, websites with animated banners often had bad reputation of being unprofessional.

another option would be to have multiple separate banners and have one chosen at random when the page is loaded, but that still requires all the work of actually making a second or third :P

Yeah that could work too. For the sake of consistency, I think the core part (the logo/fonts/slogan/colors) should remain identical, with only certain parts changing.

Anyway I think for the time being, the best would be to make sure that people are aware about what Omni mainly covers, such as my edit suggestion earlier (HP Prime :P).

Also, Omni has a serious SEO issue since the past three years: The META keywords that are present in each skin are, for the most part, no longer relevant to our current emphasis and main sources of traffic. Also IIRC there were too many of them, which apparently can hurt our ranking in certain search engines. That said I don't know if keywords are still used much by search engines but still, here are some examples:

For example, I seriously doubt that in the last three years our majority of visitors and registered members have come to Omnimaga specifically for the following themes in red (maybe combinations of them, but not them alone lol) and some are just too broad:

Quote
<meta name="keywords" content="Omnimaga: The Coders Of Tomorrow, Omnimaga, The Coders Of Tomorrow, download, projects, TI-73, TI-82, TI-83, TI-84, TI-85, TI-86, TI-89, TI-92, Voyage 200, TI-Nspire, Casio Prizm, fx-9860G, fx-9750G, fx-9850G, Casio, calculator, ASM, BASIC, C, ARM, z80, 68k, assembly, Ndless, axe parser, calc, RPG, action, adventure, game, metroid, reuben, quest, zelda, final fantasy, reign of legends, Illusiat, mario, music, techno, trance, eurodance, hardcore, rave, club, nitacku, dj, netham45, anime, key factoring, hacking, cracking, game boy, gameboy, color, GB, GBC, emulator, TI-Boy SE, TI-Boy, gbc4nspire"/>

Some others might be questionable, too. For example Reuben and Quest should probably be combined together, then if too many keywords isn't an issue then gpSP-Nspire, TI-Nspire CX, HP Prime, nLaunch, DJ Omnimaga, xLIB, fx-cg10, fx-cg20, TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition could be added, for example. Back in 2009 one of the top 10 most searched query was the 10 ways to die domin-a-dead thread.

Well, the Konami code should ponify the whole site and put a lot of pink IMHO.

That said, bringing back the Netham lobster easter egg would be funny :P (when typing Netham45 is a lobster in OmnomIRC v1, it turned the site pink)
