Nice, I think I would merge the Z bottom gray part that almost touch the rest of the title with it, though, since it seems a bit cutoff.
In case you are wondering where I went, I left Omni back in 2015 to form CodeWalrus due to various reasons explained back then, but I stopped calc dev in 2016 and am now mostly active on the CW Discord server at https://discord.gg/cuZcfcF

I don't know why, but I just had to try this out.

It took much longer than I was hoping but turned out nice.  :)

Sure, although it's an App, because this thing's got 16 pictures in it  :P
That plus I really didn't feel like optimizing it a whole lot, but it's an App so it's the same size no matter what anyway.  :)

Well, wabbitemu doesn't like it when I try to export the App, so I'll just give you the source.
Just make sure you compile it in Axe 3.2 as a App. Enjoy!  ;D
(oh yeah, you are gonna need basically all of your RAM for this. Program is 12665 and you need Pics 0-7 open.)

Once you compile it, you can delete all the Pics and the source so that they don't take up any space.

Yeah I did use that RD as an avatar on MC until I started using Jazz as my primary avatar everywhere.

That's awesome, but I was actually having troubles with the tiles more than the sprites, like the rocks/floors in the first cave.

Oh, well how much detail do you need for the tiles, because IIRC, the tileset for Cavestory is HUGE, so you probably won't be needing every tile converted.

EDIT: I just pulled a screenshot of the first cave. Are you talking about the actual square tiles or the background tiles?

EDIT2:I just grabbed a small chunk of tiles and worked with it. It's weird, it seems that these tiles have a 5 color palette. If you want, I can probably try and dither the 5th color, but then that would take much longer to do all the tiles.

EDIT3: Had a little extra time so I felt like making a little mockup screen for Cavestory. YES ;D

Wow looks nice o.o. A Cave story game for calcs would be cool! I wonder if using a whole lot of 16x16 tiles would take a lot of space, though? (especially if each tile is grayscale) How many tiles Cave Story has, approximately?

Well, with the tile sheet I have, it's got ~2656 tiles, and that isn't including any of the sprites. The mockup was just for Tribal to see what it might look like in 16x16 grayscale. The game would be much better as 8x8 as detail isn't too important for the tiles in Cave Story anyway.
