Herro!
« on: July 29, 2011, 04:52:49 pm »
Hi, I recently got a Ti-Nspire w/ touchpad for my junior + senior years in high school along with college.

I have some programming knowledge.  Java is probably my strongest suit, though I know a little Lua and Visual Basic (I hate that language, so I don't really count it).  I am interested in learning Ti-BASIC, though.
I joined Omnimaga because I like modding my devices.  I rooted my Android phone within the first week of owning it. ;D

Other facts:
-I really enjoy machining.
-I'm part of our school's Battle Bot team.
-(As of now) I'm planning on going to RIT or RPI with a major in mechanical engineering.
-I'm Vietnamese, though don't speak the language.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away!

@buttsfredkin:  Hmm, looks interesting, I'll look more into it.

@ephan:  Wow, that's just the website I was looking for.  Looks like they have great tutorials and explanations.  Thanks!

I heard about the place through hearing about Ndless, which I heard through ticalc.org, which I found when I was looking for a program to simplify radicals (instead of 6.9282, it would be 4 square roots of 3)

Welcome! I'm sure you can learn TI-BASIC easily, it's simple compared to java.
Here are some complementary peanuts

Wait, Axe only works on the ti-83/84 + (se) family of calcs. Do you have that?

No prob.

I thought that Axe could run on an nspire if you had the 84+ extension, but I may be wrong...

Heya and welcome on the forums.

As for Axe Parser, if your Touchpad came with an extra 84 Plus Silver Edition keypad, you should be fine. I'm unsure if TI still sell the 84 plus keypad, though.

Hello Frapiscide. I would definitely recommend Axe or perhaps Grammar/ReCode. (I think those two are going to be pretty popular once completed) Can't wait to see some of the projects you come up with. :D

Spoiler For IMPORTANT NEWS!:
Late last night, Quebec was invaded by a group calling themselves, "Omnimaga". Not much is known about these mysterious people except that they all carried calculators of some kind and they all seemed to converge on one house in particular. Experts estimate that the combined power of their fabled calculators is greater than all the worlds super computers put together. The group seems to be holding out in the home of a certain DJ_O, who the Omnimagians claim to be their founder. Such power has put the world at a standstill with everyone waiting to see what the Omnimagians will do...

Wait... This just in, the Omnimagians have sent the UN a list of demands that must be met or else the world will be "submitted to the wrath of Netham45's Lobster Army". Such demands include >9001 crates of peanuts, sacrificial blue lobsters, and a wide assortment of cherry flavored items. With such computing power stored in the hands of such people, we can only hope these demands are met.

In the wake of these events, we can only ask, Why? Why do these people make these demands, what caused them to gather, and what are their future plans...

If you don't have a calc from the TI-83+ family, Axe would be hard to learn for you (except if you have the 84+ mode or something ???)
If you have an Nspire, I can't help you ;D (because I don't have one and don't understand anything to it) but others would be happy to help.
Anyway, welcome here.
I own: 83+ ; 84+SE ; 76.fr ; CX CAS ; Prizm ; 84+CSE
Sorry if I answer with something that seems unrelated, English is not my primary language and I might not have understood well. Sorry if I make English mistakes too.
