What language is the TI-Nspire student software written in? I'm trying to decompile it, but without success.

If TI makes games (or at least used to), why do they go through so much trouble to prevent them? (ex. TI Invaders for the TI-99)

Well, in a situation like this, there are two things that people can do:
1. Hack or
2. Boycott

TI and Apple should become partner companies; they both make stupid decisions regarding their products.
And even though Apple has no reason for what they do, TI doesn't have a good enough reason. "Our calculators must be test safe..blah blah blah." "Teachers don't like calculator games blah blah blah (F*ck all teachers like this)." "We don't  want you to run CAS on a non-CAS nspire blah blah blah." Even though this may be true (I am one of the people who is running CAS on a non-CAS nspire, on my grayscale nspire), why would you spend a bunch of money on two different calc models when you could just advance the ones you already have?

BTW, I am running OS 3.3.0.538 on my nspire CAS, with boot2 3.2.4.5. Could I downgrade my boot2 through RS232 and then use nlaunch CX?

My normal nspire (grayscale) boots the TI-Nspire OS when I am using the TI-84+ keypad. I have to remove the keypad multiple times for it to boot correctly. But, I am running os 3.1 on my normal nspire. Some guy mentioned in a post that his friend's nspire cx screen would turn upside down.
EDIT:
Could an ndless 3.1 program be made to downgrade another calc through the mini usb cable?

I hope we can get someone like anonymous to f*** up TI's website. But that's not what I am commenting about.
My nspire cx cas says "P-02131" on the back. What hardware revision is that?
And didn't extended mention in one of his posts (@ ndlessly.wordpress.com) that ndless may be possible through lua?
Also, as long as an nspire has a serial port, it should be hackable right? I don't know much about nspires, but couldn't a new version of ndless be made as a modified boot2 (send to your nspire through serial port)?

News / Re: New TI-Nspire CX anti-Ndless hardware J

Arggghhhh...
Why must TI do everything in their power to stop us?
osLauncher doesn't half-work, yet they still want to stop us.
If TI were smart, they would embrace ndless. It's another sad example of third party programmers achieving more than the actual company is. ndless allows password protection, overclocking, and games, all of which have limited (games) to no support (password, overclock) on the normal nspire. I'll always love ndless, and if TI wants to try to stop that, then screw them!!!

General Calculator Help / Re: How to reflash new TI Nspire CX
« on: September 01, 2013, 12:23:30 am »
Would I need to buy the cords and the white thing(I think that is some sort of voltage regulator, but I'm not sure) that are in the picture, or do they come with the Arduino? And I don't know what revision my calc is either. All I know is I got it in May this year.
EDIT:
You can use Hyperterminal and Xmodem to transfer the file I think but you need Windows XP or less
Otherwise you'll have to find an RS232 program for Windows Vista and above

Wow, I haven't been on the forums for a while...
But anyway,  I asked my mom to buy me an Arduino Uno, telling her exactly what it was, but not what I needed it for. She had no clue what I was talking about.  ;D
Hopefully, she'll decide to order it for me from Amazon.
But could someone please make a tutorial vid on how to use the Arduino to downgrade my boot 2 (A.K.A. where to place each wire, etc.)? I recently bought a CX CAS and it came with OS 3.2.4, which unfortunately, has downgrade protection. Luckily, nLaunch CX exists, but I need a Arduino or some other RS232 interface. And I don't know what to do with it even if I already have one. I have an RS232 cord, but I don't know how to use it, and I don't want my new calc to blow up because of over-voltage. Thanks!

Gaming Discussion / Nothin' but Duke Nukem
« on: November 06, 2012, 11:36:15 am »
Duke Nukem is awesome. If you don't think so, then here's proof:
This is what happens when alien scum mess with the Duke (Screenshots from Duke Nukem 3D Polymer Hi-res pack):
Number 1: Trooper Heads

So, this is why Duke Nukem is awesome. Because he kicks butt without even breaking a sweat.
I used an Rocket Launcher to gib the Assault Troopers. Then, I picked up their heads, carried them to the lobby, and placed them in a line. I feel sorry for those troopers, though. I know that it probably doesn't feel very good to have a rocket slamming into you and then gibbing you.

Sorry, Double Post, but I want everyone to know that I updated the server....
If you are using Dukeplus (Like you should), then now you can ride Dukebikes!!!!!!!!!! You can roll around in an arena on a motorcycle and kick butt!!!!!!

Also, I forgot to say that you need Duke Nukem 3D to play this game. It's kind of implied, though....

Anybody wanna have a dukematch or Co-op? I just got my first duke server up and running.
You have to have 3 things in order to play on the server:
Eduke32 (The most advanced sourceport of Duke3D)
DukePlus (A mod by DeeperThought, a Duke3D developer; If you don't have DukePlus, then you will epically FAIL because you will be playing the regular Duke3D, just with a sourceport)
YANG (Yet Another Netplay Guider)

Optional, but extremely recommended stuff:
Polymer HRP (I don't know whether or not you can play on the server without it)
A graphics card that supports OpenGL.

You can find the server under Eduke32 server in the YANG Browser. The server is called Duke3D Co-Op/Deathmatch Server 1. You can kill other players, or you can kill monsters.
Please, I really want someone to play with!!!!

Nelson Addison's Techno Symphony #1

http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=837

This is a song I made. I started working on it on Monday, 10/15/12, and finished on Wednesday, 10/17/12.

It is called "Techno Symphony #1." It is my first techno-type song.

Originally, I wanted the song to be dubstep (which, by the way, is a sub-genre of techno), but I decided that I liked a more fast paced, poppy song better.

Hope you like it! This is the 5th song I have made so far, so feel free to give me suggestions!

I made this song using Anvil Studio (to make the song) and Synthfont (to convert the song to an mp3, and add affects like panning and pitch bend). I used multiple soundfonts when converting this song to an mp3. They are:
ChoriumRevA.sf2
drumkit3.1all.sf2
8Rock11e.sf2
8RealGS20.sf2

If the file upload is still not working, here is the link:

would games in DosBox run faster on the CX than on a regular nspire, if it could be ported? if so, what could be done to make the speed relatively the same? just curious :).

General Discussion / General Rock Music Talk
« on: October 24, 2012, 08:50:15 pm »
Hey guys.

Does anybody still listen to good Rock Music? If you do, or want to join in, then this topic is for you.

I listen to all kinds of Rock (Classic, Modern, Metal, Heavy Metal, etc.)

My favorite bands are Pillar, Journey, and Linkin Park. I also like rock music from composers like Robert C. Prince III and Lee Jackson, who made music from video games. Lee Jackson's Grabbag (Theme frome Duke Nukem 3D) is awesome!!!!!!!

I remember when I first started listening to Linkin Park. My dad brought the Hybrid Theory CD home one day. He played it in the car when we were on vacation one time.

After that, I asked him for the CD. Ever since then, it's been inside my stereo's CD Player. I listen to it frequently.

Do any of you guys have experiences like this with rock?

Also, I've just gotten a recent interest in AC/DC. If you like metal, then AC/DC will hit you with a wave of awesomeness!

So, you guys get the point.

Sorry, this is the third time I have posted in succession. I am doing this because OmniIRC is back up, and if I post this message, then people will come to the page. I need help with something.

I am learning how to do the Modeldefs thingy in the various enhanced ports of GZDoom.
I need help finding which frames to use. I am making a High-Resolution Duke Nukem 3D mod for Doom. It uses 3D models.
