I'm sorry Mario. I was planning on welcoming you... but I'm too distracted by this ↓

Crystals growing out of arms? ??? What kind of drug did you try? O.O

Nice port so far. Looks exactly like the original. Sadly, I think I'm most impressed with the shadows but that's just me. xD

Youtube 'Mighty Jill Off' to see what he's talking about. There's literally one bad word and one moment of boot licking and that was in the form of a cutscene/slideshow. (It's not even easy to tell that the main character is a girl. xD)

It's from the Mo Creatures mod. This mod adds in several new creatures but that cavern with a fire ogre, 2 werewolves, 5 zombies, 3-4 creepers, and a skeleton was too cool so I had to take a picture and share it. =)
(Later, I went to the cavern again and found a werewolf and a shark. I had the shark kill the werewolf for me then I killed the shark. xD)

v1.4 isn't out yet and the only new mob will be wolves that you can train. However, 1.4 will be coming out sometime this week according to Notch and Jeb.

So... I was exploring a cavern and...

Fortunately, the Fire Ogre ended up hitting the two werewolves and an epic battle ensued. =D

The Fire Ogre won and then I got sniped by a skeleton.

For those interested in what you see above:
I managed making a working pack with Mo Creatures and Zan's Minimap. Seriously changed the game and I haven't had more fun or been more frustrated.

The mods are here (Mo Creatures) and here (Minimap) but if you have trouble installing it or just want the easy way to get both with no work, PM me. Oh, and don't worry about being incompatible with multiplayer. The game simply ignores the Mo Creatures mod on servers that don't have the SMP version installed on it and the Minimap still works perfectly. Though, note that if you use a texture pack, you'll have to do some work to actually show any of the new creatures or you have to switch back to the Default texture pack.

On that note, I have the texture pack that I use hosted on RFG for anyone to use. It works with or without Mo Creatures. Try it out and let me know if you like it.
http://removedfromgame.com/NyaaRPG2.zip (Generated by PainterlyPack, edited by me)
For those that don't know how to install texture packs, just save the zip file (don't unzip it) into your minecraft's texture pack folder. Easiest way to open it is to start Minecraft, go to 'Mods and Textures packs' and click 'Open texture pack folder'. That's where the .zip needs to be placed. Then you can change from default at the 'Mods and texture packs' screen and change back at any time.

Final note, the mods will be uninstalled and most likely not work when 1.4 comes out sometime this week but I'll update you guys on when they're fully compatible again. Oh, and switch back to the default texture pack when the 1.4 update happens too until I get an updated version with the new official mob and other items in it.

For those who want a customizable server:
I also made a premade Bukkit server that you can just unzip and run. The .bat files are only for windows. I don't know enough about mac or Linux to make the files for them but I can try to figure it out if you need it. Important though... READ THE README.txt. For one, port forwarding is most likely needed (I needed it) and it'll help you understand how to set up your server how YOU want it.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

For those who don't know about v1.4:
This update is slated to come out this week. It will contain some bug fixes like finally updating your spawn point properly when sleeping in a bed.
The main new features are a new mob and stats/achievements system. Minecraft will track (currently) 662 stats that can be found on your profile on Minecraft.net and will add all sorts of achievements for you to gain. The achievements are nothing but bragging rights and aren't going to be something like 'kill 100 creepers' but will be more like 'ride a pig off a cliff'.

The new mob is the wolf. This is the first (official) mob that you can tame. You use bones on a wild wolf to get it to start following you around. It will attack things that you attack, has health, and responds to commands and items. There's a preview movie here.

As stated earlier, I'll keep you updated. =)

xD

I was about to upload an image earlier and saw that I was at 1327, so from that point on I just kept a close watch on my emails. (if you didn't know, I get an email for every picture uploaded as a temporary way to moderate the images)
Infact, the image in this thread is image 1338. I prefer obsessively observing over cheating. ;P

In case any of you have wondered where I've been on IRC or around the forums in the last few days, I have one word for you.

Minecraft.

Although, more recently I've been playing on my own little home server (like 3 people max without lag xD) and have started mod making.
My current project is a skill system that I picked up from someone else and got running on current Bukkit servers. Though, I plan to spread into a full, unique RPG system that I'll host later on a VPS.

Oh, and I just got a job, but that's less important. ;P

Description:
So, I just got Minecraft and started single player. This is the final result before I decided to go off and start another world. Hopefully dying less this time. xP

Anyway, enjoy the sheer noobiness of my humble shelter... thing.

Um... description says it all.
Btw, I hate you Geekboy. I have not been able to stop playing this damn game. Dx
Oh, the Fraps cut off the right side of my screen but I didn't want to re-record with Camtasia so... yeah. That side of the screen isn't important anyway.

Found my first dungeon too:

I deleted this world not long after though. I had died after spending all of the first day running north. xD

Very nice work so far! =D

Neat! Seems like an online game I played a few weeks back called Gravity Duck. You should make your game gravity lobster :P
Gravity Duck is the first thing I thought of when I saw the screenshot.

Any inspiration from there, leafiness? =P

Actually, I'm sort of interested. Not much of a writer but I can do my best in the other 2 areas. We can talk more in IRC about it. =P

Honestly, this seems more like a podcast than a video. It's has good information and is clearly spoken, but there's really no reason for the video at all in it's current form. I don't know, maybe that's what you were going for, but I believe you should definitely give people a reason to actually watch it too. In include screenshots, even of forum posts in the case of news, or other video. Maybe even throw in cheesy special effects and such. If you need inspiration, just watch the news. Headlines, images, video, etc will add a lot to the show. You'll keep more attention on the video and be able to possibly attract people not in the community (yet) more easily.

Regardless, it's not bad. I even learned a few things myself but it could be much better and I know you're capable of it. =)

Web Programming and Design / Re: [RFG] Userbar Manager
« on: January 27, 2011, 06:32:30 pm »
Alright, internet problem is fixed but I haven't figured out the problem with Opera just yet. The weird part is that editing a userbar will create the image just fine but when you try to make a new one, the userbar isn't saved. The part that confuses me about that is that creating and editing userbars is the exact same code so the fix may take awhile to figure out.

For now, when you create one, edit it and it will be made for you like normal. (If using Opera)
I'll keep working on it.

*UPDATE: Fixed. Apparently, Opera has a hard time dealing with the way I set up my form for creation and wouldn't properly post information to the next step in the form so I changed the creation form to one exactly like the edit form. It's less pretty, but it works.

However, I chose a bar of non-progress type and it stills let me choose percentage, I think.

That shouldn't be happening really. Double check that and if it's true then let me know what browser you're using.

Just a suggestion, make it so when you bring the textbox with the url into focus that it automatically selects all the text. Here is a jQuery tutorial which I'm sure you can modify to your needs (without using jQuery etc) http://www.codeunit.co.za/2010/05/10/jquery-javascript-how-to-select-all-text-in-a-textbox/

Nice idea. Just needed to add "onclick="this.select()"" to the textbox. ;P

Well, thanks to Opera being weird about how I coded my form, I managed to make a pretty epic update.

Now the creation and editing form will show a LIVE preview of the userbar while you're working! All changes made in the form will show you what they look like instantly. (Well, almost instantly. Custom backgrounds take a bit longer to load but otherwise very fast.)

Also, managed to fix the caching issue for most browsers. Unfortunately, Opera is having issues accepting the fix so Opera users will still have to refresh the main page after editing their userbar to see the changes.

Let me know if anything else comes up!

Yeah, this time the image is being created then it's actually stored on the server so it's just like any other image. Before, the userbars were just generated code and not quite signatures. In fact, if you tried to save the image it'd try to save as a ".php.png" unless you changed the extension.

But yeah, now everything is handled much better.

Hm... strange. I did it and didn't get the error but I have to mention that .bmp isn't supported yet so it just gave me a black background.
I'll go ahead and see if I can get Opera and see what the problem is.

Also, my ISP is seriously screwing me. It's knocked out my internet for several hours 2 days in a row now and it's been going REALLY slow since last night so I'm like downloading at 30kb/s and pages take forever to load so this will take much more time than normal.
