I am an avid IE user, so shoot me :P IE6 is the one I use most; I'm posting this from it. I use both IE6 and IE6Mobile. It's just great - groovy interface, fast loading, super-low memory consumption. When I need to load a picky webpage I do use FX17 though.

and this, my friends, is why web developers are having such a hard time making their websites compatible

yes, and that means that at least we know they're there, because we can look into the code to see they're there.
on proprietary code, nothing guarantees what you use, and what the program does, therefore leaving potentially dangerous code running without the knowledge of the user.
it's because of this kind of behaviour that Microsoft has been able to leave a backdoor in their systems.
proprietary code doesn't only mean taking away any kind of contribution to the general development of computers, it also means that you want to hide something. I don't like either of the means.

Check the licenses: Wikipedia list
Google Chrome draws it's code from project Chromium, and adds some closed code for some big-brotherly features I don't wan't.
It may not be a big difference for most users, but it is for people who strive for the development of free software.

Casio Calculators / Re: PxlOn 1,1 works, but not PxlOn X,Y?? (PRIZM BASIC)
« on: February 04, 2014, 10:01:22 am »
Aaah the joys of casio basic, where all the graphic functions use X and Y as global variables.

Actually the use for this override is justified by the function plot:
Code: [Select]
ViewWindow 1, 127, 0, 1, 63, 0
64 -> X
32 -> Y
Plot X, Y [triangle thingy]
Locate 1, 1, X
Locate 2, 1, Y

Using the display instruction on a Plot X, Y function allows the user to move a cursor around the screen and effectively modify the X and Y coordinates (confirmed by pressing EXE)
This is actually very useful for point and click games, or for graphical interfaces (especially on Casio g25 calculators (can't remember the international name), where there weren't any kind of decent Input/Output functions)

Since this function was created before any kind of graphical functions on the latest calculator models, the later functions inherited from this behaviour (just like the SH3 calculators' BASIC graphical screen inherited from the 127*63 resolution of the previous models, despite the physical screen being 128*64)

Please add Chromium to the list because saying that I use Google Chrome would be saying that I'm using Google proprietary code, and that is not happening.

Aah... those times where I saw ponies on the internet and laughed at how immature I thought these fans were...
Let's just say I've gone through a lot last year.

Miscellaneous / Re: What is your avatar?
« on: January 30, 2014, 03:48:06 pm »
Well my avatar is a space dwarf named Kardran Geregson.
I originally created it for a contest on a forum for a game project by Notch that died a few months ago.
I somehow won that contest and the virtual 3 month subscription prize for the game, but the said game will never get published, and the forum got flooded by bots when it got deserted.

Anyway, I actually recorded a audio series in french, with a few friends, featuring the grumpy dwarf, but we only published about 30 minutes of content.
Oh and it got adapted in book format afterwards.
And then it died altogether.

but meh. I still know the people I've been working with to release the said content, so I might get back to it later. who knows. It really was a fun project to work on, despite the occasional fights over plot and scientific accuracy. I'd really like to finish that project actually.

So yeah. Enjoy the space dwarf.

although characters in a referential that differs the one of the camera will be moving on the screen.
I'm currently writing the documentation for the game, so that people can give out suggestions, and eventually help me with the mass of game content that needs to be done.

That last episode was really great. It's been a long time since a MLP episode gave me such a good laugh.
Also I kinda hoped the episode would explore a bit more on the subject of Starswirl the Bearded (I have one BIG headcannon I'd like to see confirmed).
