Art / Help with 2D sprites
« on: March 16, 2012, 03:09:08 pm »
Are there any good artists that can draw some sprites for a game that I am making for my Video Animation class at school? It's a doom style game, so the sprites have to be first person. I'm going to need:
Dual Wield Ballistic Knife sprites sheet (A sprite for every movement of the knives. I don't have time to make a script for each movement of the knives, so I need a sprite for each movement of the knives). Here are two examples of Ballistic Knives (credit goes to Activision and Treyarch, in Call of Duty: Black Ops, one of the most awesome games I own):

And then, I need some knife sprites (Also from Black Ops):

Railgun (From the Cybercrime 3.0 Deathmatch PWAD for Doom):

Finally, I need some dual wield handrails, miniature railguns that can be held in both hands. This is something that I thought of, so there is not an image for these. As long as they look well, then I don't care how they look.

TI-Nspire / Re: OSLauncher 3.1
« on: March 13, 2012, 06:04:29 pm »
Why are there no downrates?

I didn't mean to get pissed off about my negative respect, if that is the reason for no more downrates.

Also, oslauncher created the pheonix.zip.raw file. I sent  it to my nspire, and it says can't open os. I have an nspire with touchpad (I don't necessarily like the clickpad). Is this the reason why?

EDIT:
Never mind, I found out why it wasn't working. it wasn't in the ndless folder. But, it always freezes at the clock screen. I've clicked, press menu and open, press ctrl+O, and it still freezes. I've tried os 2.1, 2.0, and it always freezes. Note: I am trying to launch a cas os. maybe this is why it does this?

ANOTHER EDIT:
No os I have tried so far works. Even non-cas os.
I feel sorry for myself that all os freeze at the clock screen. Everybody else is getting oslauncher working, why can't I? Maybe it's because I have 50% battery life left, or maybe oslauncher is messed up, or I forgot to noverclock my nspire?

I have a mod for wireless redstone. You can change the frequency of the redstone in Hz. Also, I have an Arrows mod, which let's you have tnt, lightning, egg, ice, and fire arrows. The too many items mod is awesome, it gives you every block in minecraft, letting you convert saves from survival to creative, and letting you make awesome creations in survival mode.

TI-Nspire / Re: Nspire Movie Player - alternative to nPlayer

Mon ami Rishi est stupide...
Il n'aime pas ndless.

He is missing out on all of the awesome stuff ndless lets you do, like this.

Also, I have no idea how to compile a sequence of images or whatever. Yeah, and couldn't I use something like super? I don't have ffmpegy thingy or whatever. I just want to be able to easily watch movies on my nspire.

nSDL / Re: SDL for the TI-Nspire
« on: March 12, 2012, 06:41:21 pm »
While I'm dealing with the timer stuff, I decided to implement fonts. There are 4 fonts included by default, but it's easily extensible. See for yourself:

Drawing fonts is as easy as calling the SDL_NSP_DrawString() function (any TI-Nspire-specific functions I add will be prefixed with SDL_NSP_*).

Is nSDL far enough to start porting SDL programs to the nspire? Or do you need to do more work? (I know nothing about SDL, so I have no clue what you have to do to finish it) Also, could I put custom fonts off of my computer on my nspire using nSDL without having to make the font over again?

Yes, or more generally, I fixed most of the blitting issues. Here's a short video so you can more or less see how blitting a big image runs speed-wise:

EDIT: I actually forgot to pass the surface through SDL_DisplayFormat() to convert to the screen's pixel format. With SDL_DisplayFormat() it's a lot snappier.

EDIT2: Here's another video that gives a better impression of the blitting speed (and seems like there are some issues with timers I need to fix):

Also, the video isn't showing, maybe it's because youtube is blocked at my school? I had no problem viewing youtube videos off of omnimaga before...

Woudn't you need all the resources, like all the pictures and stuff to be able to compile this?

No, you just need a loader, and the wolfenstein map files. You will already have them if you have bought the game, but if not, someone will probably remove the sound and upload it to TI-Planet like with the DOOM iwads. of course, it would be abandonware, if I'm not mistaken.

TI-Nspire / Re: OSLauncher 3.1

Yes, I have. I used unspire to compress the TI-Nspire.img, and then I sent it to my calc. Also, I have a non-cx nspire with touchpad. I didn't want to buy the clickpad  because our teacher told us to buy the nspire with touchpad.

I haven't tested DummyOS on my nspire, because it is just proof to show that OSlauncher works.

When I try to open oslauncher, it says can't open os file.

Oh, it hasn't been compiled into a .tns file yet. The script will have to be modified to draw to the nspire's screen and work with the nspire's keys. And, someone will have to probably make a nWolfen program loader to load Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein: Spear of Destiny. Also, the npsire's keys are different, and it will have to be changed so that it will work on both the cx and the cm and the regular nspire.

News / Re: LuaFX arrives on the FX-9860G
« on: March 05, 2012, 10:42:21 pm »
Lua is a programming language, like c or c++. I learned lua, but I am not particularly good at it. You can program games, apps, and even program programmers that let you program on your calc. Like oclua, which lets you program lua scripts on the TI-Nspire. Lua only uses 2D graphics, unless a 3D engine is made, like Chocksta's Tiny3D. So, it is another way to allow you to play games and use apps on your calc.

can someone post an executable?

@annoyingcalc: By executable, do you mean the exe file? It is included in the zip file I attatched at the beginning of the topic.

News / Re: OS 3.2 blocks Ndless

DON'T UPDATE, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU ARE PRESSURED! AN NSPIRE CAS IS A WASTE OF MONEY WHEN YOU HAVE OSLAUNCHER!

ndless is a program allowing c programs to be run on the nspire. Because of this, the original Doom and a gameboy color and an NES emulator were ported to the nspire! It turns the nspire into a game system, a computer, and a calculator, all in one!
